Shilo Brooks

Shilo Brooks is Faculty Director of the Engineering Leadership Program, Associate Faculty Director of the Benson Center for the Study of Western Civilization, and a faculty member in the Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program and the Herbst Program of Engineering, Ethics & Society at the University of Colorado. He has held fellowships at Princeton University and the University of Virginia, and has been a visiting professor of government at Bowdoin College. Brooks teaches and writes about leadership, liberal education, politics, and science. His 2018 book, Nietzsche’s Culture War, examined Friedrich Nietzsche’s critiques of modern science and culture. His essays have appeared in Scientific American, Real Clear Education, and The New Atlantis. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Boston College, and his B.A. in liberal arts from the Great Books Program at St. John’s College, Annapolis.
