Mentorship Program
Each summer, select alumni in the D.C. area are paired with small groups of current summer fellows for the duration of the program. Alumni mentors provide their mentees with insight into the program, career or academic guidance, and a foothold into D.C. professional networks. Whether paired due to professional goals, or academic interests, the mentorship program introduces summer fellows to our extensive alumni network and builds lasting bonds.
In the past, mentors have assisted their mentees by editing and pitching op-eds, providing interview coaching and resume editing, and even in playing hockey.
Information on the mentorship program
If you would like further information on the mentorship program please contact our Director of Mentorship, Michael Lucchese mlucchese@hudson.org.
Alumni Testimonials
David Altman PS ‘21 Assistant Editor, Hudson Institute
In the Political Studies Program, I made lifelong friends who share my interest in philosophy and political theory—and learned how I could apply this interest to a role in policy or foreign affairs in Washington.

Kayla Bartsch PS ‘18 William F. Buckley, Jr. Fellow, National Review
My work now—writing for National Review and leading a society for young adults in D.C.—was all made possible through my participation in the Political Studies Summer Fellowship

Louise Franke PS ‘19 Rhodes Scholar ‘24
Political Studies offers an outstanding fellowship to undergraduates that will broaden and deepen their understanding of public policy and American principles.

Abigail Ingram PS ‘24 Student at Baylor College
I sincerely appreciated being a part of a community of deep thinkers with different life experiences. Not only have I been able to read sources for class, but I have also had some of the most interesting discussions outside of seminar.
Eduardo Castellet Nogués PC ‘23 Program Officer, Center for European Policy Analysis
Hudson’s certificate program augmented my education and allowed me to consider the nature of honor, the power of diplomacy, and the state’s responsibility to its citizens.
Quinn Rifkin PS ‘22 PhD Student at Boston College
Political Studies embodies the concern for human excellence and teaches students to take their lives seriously as citizens and as human beings.
