Tiernan Kane

Tiernan is a member of SouthBank Legal’s Chambers-ranked commercial litigation team and focuses on resolving complex legal disputes. He has experience at every stage of litigation and in a wide range of cases under state and federal law, including appeals of multimillion-dollar verdicts. His representation has often included assertion of clients’ constitutional and civil rights.

Previously, Tiernan was a lawyer at Cooper & Kirk. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he also completed a Ph.D. in political science at the University of Notre Dame and clerked for Judge Edith H. Jones on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. At Princeton University, he earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in Classics.

Kane has written on Cicero’s ethics, on moral integrity and religion as (distinct) principles of political morality, and on the protection of moral integrity in private law.
